MATS ALFREDSSON
Street photography is discovering and documenting what others usually don´t see. Small human events in the public space, which normally go unnoticed, but in the frozen moment leaving traces. Mats passion for this classic genre is based on a genuine interest in people of all ages and social classes. Hidden behind his photos are miles of walking, hours of waiting at interesting places, traveling by train, tram and metro and the odd bar hanging. The basic rule is to never arrange, never talk to anyone he shoot in advance and never with people he know or have met before. It is an exciting journey of the unexpected and rapidly changing moment is the reward.
JOHAN BRINK
Johan Brink has developed his eye via various workshops, with the highly regarded photographer Mary Ellen Mark amongst others. Brink is fascinated by the ever changing city life, captured in the moment. Things that have been misplaced by accident, that no one wants, or details which get their beauty by carelessness, becoming even more beautiful as the sun and the shadows plays in collaboration. Brink has exhibited at the Gothenburg Auction House, in Kungsbacka Art Hall, at Hjertstedska Villan 2021, and at the Röhsska Museum of Design and Craft. Brink has also curated several exhibitions, for instance at Fotografiska in 2014.
RALPH NYKVIST
Photographer Ralph Nykvist's images are characterized by his special ability to see and capture the unintentionally comic in everyday life. He usually finds the motifs on his walks in cities, both at home and on trips to Paris, London, Munich and New York, among others. What the pictures have in common, regardless of where they were taken, is that they convey a strong curiosity about the world and how it appears viewed and depicted through the camera lens.
BIRGITTA NILSSON
Birgitta Nilsson is more or less self-taught. As a work of mourning and a tribute to a daughter who never got the chance to realize her dream of becoming a photographer. Birgitta bought her first camera in 2014 and took two short photography courses, the first in Norrköping and the second at Fridhem Folkhögskola in Svalöv. The latter with a focus on nature photography.
She describes herself as a free spirit who moved to London at the age of 17 to work as an au pair. It wasn't long before she was offered a job as a photo model. Skeptical, she entered the industry which led to a 15-year career in metropolises such as London, Barcelona, Milan and Berlin.
